Mark Harrop

Mark joined the team in 2019 from a leading City firm to head up our specialist family law team in London and is joint head of our team based in Marylebone. He works closely with other members of the team on some of our most complex finance and children disputes, often involving allegations of controlling or abusive behaviour. He was named one of Citywealth’s Top 20 Family and Matrimonial Lawyers in 2020 and also sits part-time as a Deputy District Judge in the Family Court in London and around the South East.

Mark regularly trains junior solicitors and barristers on family law issues and co-authored two editions of the legal textbook,Cohabitation: Law, Practice and Precedents.  He spent two years as chair of London Young Resolution (representing over 500 young family solicitors) and a further three on Resolution’s London committee, and continues to promote its non-confrontational approach to family law problems and solutions that consider the needs of the whole family.

He was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 2021.
