More About Yulia

Having also experienced litigation personally, Yulia has first-hand insight into the emotional and practical pressures of navigating legal proceedings while managing the many other challenges of everyday life. Clients often say that this enables her to understand them “on a different level” and truly appreciate what it is like to go through the process.

As a Resolution-trained family mediator, Yulia supports separating couples to explore constructive and child-focused solutions in relation to their children and finances. She is committed to helping clients resolve matters outside of court wherever appropriate.

Yulia advises on all aspects of family law, including:

  • Divorce and financial settlements, including high-value cases involving complex financial disclosure, non-matrimonial assets, intricate remuneration structures and international elements.
  • Legal Services Payment Orders and interim maintenance, including applications for one spouse to contribute towards the other’s legal fees or provide financial support while proceedings are ongoing.
  • Child arrangements, including disputes concerning where children should live, the time they spend with each parent and specific issues such as schooling.
  • Relocation, including applications to relocate children within England and Wales or abroad, as well as applications for their return to their country of habitual residence.
  • Injunctions, including prohibited steps orders, non-molestation orders and occupation orders.
  • Domestic abuse, including securing urgent protective measures and advising clients sensitively throughout the process.
  • Nuptial agreements, including pre- and post-nuptial agreements for international clients and those with significant premarital assets or anticipated inheritances.
  • Cohabitation agreements, helping unmarried couples establish clear financial and living arrangements.

Yulia has built a strong professional network that includes mediators, independent financial advisers, mortgage brokers, accountants, pension specialists, education consultants and therapists. This enables her clients to access a broad range of trusted professional support when needed.

She has developed particular expertise in cases involving mental health challenges and Special Educational Needs (SEN), reflecting her keen interest in education. In 2023, Yulia co-authored Modern Families, a family law lesson now taught in secondary schools as part of the PSHE curriculum. The project won a Family Law Award that year.

Clients describe Yulia as pragmatic, strategic and effective, consistently praising her efficient yet thoughtful approach. She is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian and speaks advanced French, placing her well to advise an international client base.

Outside work, Yulia enjoys swimming, hiking, paddleboarding and walking her dog.
