Leading family law practice, Family Law Partners, has announced the arrival of highly respected and experienced Sarah Jelly to the Brighton-based team.

Robert Williams, Director at Family Law Partners, said “We are really excited to welcome Sarah to the firm. She has a great reputation amongst clients and referrers. Sarah is a talented, respected and highly experienced collaborative practitioner and mediator. This dovetails perfectly with the existing Family Law Partners team. Personally, I’m delighted to be working with Sarah again as we were former colleagues”.

Family law specialist Sarah joins as a Consultant from a Tunbridge Wells firm. Sarah’s has an extensive and loyal client base across Kent and East Sussex, and mediation and collaborative work forms a large proportion of Sarah’s work.

Sarah comments “I have admired the work and vision of the Family Law Partners team for some time. I have worked with members of the team before and we share the same values. Their commitment to helping clients find a non-adversarial process to resolving family disputes is a shared passion of mine and I am really looking forward to joining this forward-thinking team”.

Sarah has more than thirty years’ experience in family law. She is a member of Resolution and also a member of the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority’s Family Law and Mediation Accreditation Schemes.

Sarah has practised as a ‘collaborative practitioner’ since February 2007 and highly skilled mediator, having started this part of her practice in 1996.

In 2013 Sarah represented the wife in the reported case of ‘RvR’and Others[2013] EWHC 4244 (Fam) on the issue of the responsibility of shadow directors in family companies.

Since forming in 2011 Family Law Partners has established itself as the leading niche family practice in Sussex. FLP is recognised as a top tier firm by prestigious legal directory Chambers and Partners and ranked in the Legal 500.  The firm remains in the unique position of having all senior lawyers individually ranked as leaders in the field of family law in Chambers and Partners. Sarah joins the Family Law Partners team on 1 May 2015. She will be advising clients across the South East and London on issues including divorce and separation, post- and pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation issues and those involving children, with a focus on her collaborative and mediation practice.
